Creme Chantilly

I love to bake, it feels always a little bit like making magic to me. The easier the recipe, the more I really like it, but I always try to do new things, I'm not the one who sticks always with the same sweets. I like to experiment and this means, that not everytime I try something, it turns out like I excepted.

Like this time, it was perfectly delicious, but it wasn't like excepted.
The plan was to make a stiff cream and put it in between the puff pastry cookies. Since the cream wasn't stiff in the end, this doesn't worked, but we all liked it and the fresh strawberrys where delightful.

The cookies where really easy to make. Cutting puff pastry in stripes, making some holes with a fork and sprinkle with sugar. Put them for about 5 to 10 minutes in the oven at 220 degree and they are ready to eat.

The cream I made like this, mixed 2 egg yolk with 65 gramm sugar and then stirred in some flour and the grated peel of a lemon.
Warmed up 2 deciliter of milk and mixed all together in the cooking pan and bring to boil for some short minutes until it becomes stiff. Let it cool down.
Then whip 3 deciliter of cream until it is stiff.
Mix it all together and put it to cool down for a while in the fridge.

Served with fresh fruits, it is really a very delicious dessert. I can imagine to make this creme again. If now finally is coming the hot summertime I will also try to put this creme in my icecream machine and then servve it with fresh fruits!

Daily life

I love the silent time for me in the morning, it's this moment when my big girl left for school, my husband went to work and my little girl still sleeps. The dogs made there first walk of the day and are sleeping again.

Collecting my thoughts, writing in my journal and drinking some coffe.

Could eat caprese salad every day, the tomatoes are delicious and the basil is homegrown from our balcony.

Sewing a dress for me and enjoying to take time for myself.

Picking flowers in the garden and beeing happy for there beautiful color combination, while considering what to sew next and what fabric to choose.

Fresh and sweet melon for more energy.

Collecting more flowers and I'm just still so in love with our giant newfoundland dog.

Looking for beauty all over, even trash can look beautiful, it's in the eye of the beholder.

P.S: This post is part of the project, called "weekly love" go have a look over there to see and feel more love and maybe you want to share your own happy moments! Thank you Jane for the organisation!

Showing the real

It often happens to me, that a day I don't feel beautiful, loved or don't feel comfortable in my home.

This happens to everyone and I think it's more difficult to share this parts we struggle with, then the things and times we feel fullfilled and accomplished.

My home and life aren't at all perfect, also if it is this, what you can see on my blog until now. I'm a learning mother who loves her daugthers, but far from perfect. My blog is a work in progress and in the business side I'm failing over and over again. It seems that even practice let me make only tiny babysteps.

Maybe in my blog, until now, I tried to focus to much on all the good things in my life and builded up a perfect world, without even noticing it myself. Because for me, the negative things, dishes to wash and daily problems to battle are tied up so near.
There are so much things I'm not good in and the things I'm good I started once and learnd them with practice over time.

For my photographs, I choose the angles without mess. Sometimes I only move the mess from one table to another, to don't show this things in my images. I love a tidy home, but my home is not tidy at every time. There are piles of laundry and the toys of my children who play all over.
The same is with the dirt, for me it is important, to live in a clean home, but I have two kids and at this time ten dogs! So it is immpossible that there arent paws and little chocolate hands on my white sofa or doghairs all over on the floor. My best friend is the roomba robot, he cleans our home daily!
Real life is important and I try to make look real life more beautiful, if I can.

Blogs I enjoy reading, are not showing a perfect life, they show a real life and this is where I want to go with my writing.
I hope you follow me on this journey.

I rewrited my about side last week, maybe you will have a peek inside there.

Classic blue dress

Summer is coming.
The days warm up and we can start to eat some icecream. Oh, how I will miss italian gelato! I think italy has the best icecream I've ever eaten.
In the mornings the air is still fresh, but during a sunny day it really warms up. The sun on the skin feels so good, its like to fill up a empty tank with new energy. This spring was very rainy and the rain for me is like the sky that weeps. This sometimes brings me in a mood that I dosen't like at all. I then try to make it cozy inside our home, light candles, drinking warm coffee or tea and cuddle with a blanket on the sofa.

But now, summer is calling. The beginning of summer is like dancing barefoot in the grass, feeling the little stones under the feet, picking flowers and dipping your toes in the water of a still cold lake!

I sewed this dress this week, I fall in love with this soft blue and bought this leightweight fabric as a scratch on the market here in italy.
It's a pattern out of the ottobre magazine autumn / winter 2012, I simply made it sleeveless and mixed up a little the patterns ( Modell 14 and 15). I was inspired by Halitha who made a very beautiful version of this dress with dots in a lovely fabric.
The zipper I moved to the side and cutted the back in one piece, unfortunatly I didn't had a zipper in the perfect color, but I'm okay with that.
I'm really in the mood to sew a little and have lots of things to wear in the planning!

What all the others on this wednesday are wearing you can come and see here on the me made mittwoch side! Lots of inspiration and gently folks over there!

Swimwear

I plan to sew my swimwear for this summer, yet only looking around for inspiration that I love to share with all of you. Since I made last year my own swimsuit and it fitted very good and was comfortable at the same time I'm less afraid of doing it.
Already collected some lycra swimwear fabrics in colors I like.
If you have other inspirations, I'm just happy if you share them with me in the comments!

5 things about me

1. My second name is the name of my mother and means star, the same signification but different names are the second names of my two daugthers.

2. When I was three years old I lived a hole year in a caravan, travelling with my then hippy parents through the desert sahara, spain and marocco.
I don't remember it with my brain, but there are feelings left over from this time. I love the sound of diesel motors, dates and pictures of the desert give me a special feeling of beeing at home.

3. I distract very easy and need lots of time for myself.
Even noise like the cars on the street outside our house or bold colors can make me tired. For this I love to surround us in a clear and white home full of silence.

4. The parents of my grandma where gypsies, I have it inside me to not stick to only one place.

5. I can't lie. I'm not able to do it, but I'm perfectly happy with beeing a very honest person.
